Queer Spec is pleased to announce the 2021 contributors to Decoded Pride Issue #2! The story-a-day anthology of speculative queer fiction and comics by queer creators is back for another year and we couldn’t be more excited to share our roster of authors!
“We were absolutely astounded by this year’s submissions and we are so proud of the stories and comics we’ll be pubishing,” says editor S.E. Fleenor. “Getting to publish 30 queer comics and stories by an entirely queer roster of creators for the second time is an absolute honor. And knowing that we’re publishing even more voices that are further marginalized within LGBTQ+ communities, including at least 15 gender variant creators, is just icing on the cake.”
Fleenor and editor Sara Century are joined by a new editor this year: Monika Estrella Negra. Negra was involved behind the scenes on Issue #1 last year, but stepped into an editor role for Issue #2. “It’s important to uplift the brilliance of marginalized voices within speculative fiction and literature because they’ve always been present—just ignored,” says Negra.
The anthology includes 6 comics and 24 stories with accompanying illustrations, all written by queer creators telling queer stories their own way.
